The Mid-Autumn Festival is also called the Moon Festival or the Mooncake Festival. It traditionally falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, which is in September or early October on the Gregorian calendar.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most important festival in China after the Chinese New Year. Chinese people celebrate it by gathering for dinners, worshipping the moon, lighting paper lanterns, eating mooncakes, etc.

It is a pleasant time. Many Chinese people send e-cards or short messages during the festival to express their best wishes to family and friends. The most popular greeting is 『Happy Mid-Autumn Festival』, and also the famous saying:

『So let us wish that man will live long as he can!
Though miles apart, we’ll share the beauty she displays.』

中秋節又稱中秋節或月餅節。傳統上是農曆八月十五日，也就是公曆的九月或十月初。
中秋節是中國僅次於春節的第二大節日。中國人通過聚餐、拜月、點紙燈籠、吃月餅等方式來慶祝佳節。

中秋節是美好愉快的時光。許多中國人在節日期間發送電子賀卡或簡訊，向家人和朋友表達最良好的祝願。最流行的問候是「中秋節快樂」，還有那句名言「但願人長久，千里共嬋娟」。
